A Pair of Detentions Following London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

The assault resulted in the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
